Welcome to Concordia Choirs Kitchener
Come visit us at the Concordia Club for Oktoberfest!
We are in the connecting hallway between the Tent and the Hall as well as in the far back of the tent…show us how you can throw!
We are a German-based community choir in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada.
The Concordia Male Choir was formed in 1873 along with the Concordia Club. It was the celebration of a mass Saengerfest in Berlin Canada, which later became Kitchener.
The Mixed Choir started in 1963. Over the past years the choir has been singing in many concerts at home and abroad as they celebrate their music and German Heritage. They participate in many festivals and events in the Kitchener/Waterloo area, in Ontario as well as national and international travel. The choir practises every Monday night except for holidays and summer.
The Children’s Choir is one of the only remaining German Children’s Choirs left in Canada. They are a highlight of our Spring and Christmas concerts. They have a great time singing in both languages, but knowing German is not essential!
